The property is beautiful but unfortunately our experience was not so great. I've never written a bad review for anything but our stay left such a bad taste in my mouth that I felt it only right to let others know. We booked our stay months in advance when all of the cabins were available. The woman who helped us with the booking assured us we would have the most secluded, private cabin on the property as that was our biggest request and reason for booking so far in advance. When we arrived, we had anything but the most private cabin. Our cabin was backed up and right next to other cabins so at night we would hear our neighbors. When we brought this to their attention there was no apologies or action for a more comfortable solution, just excuses. We felt ignored & avoided the rest of our stay and just did not get that luxury lodge experience you would expect when paying for just that. Customer service can make or break a stay. Even when checking out, not one person asked how our stay was or engaged in any sort of conversation. It was just strange. We loved Denali but our stay at Tonglen Lake Lodge was not what we expected. Cozy private cabins on a buetifull property with a very nice lake. Good food in the artisan cafe including good packed lunches. Close to the park entrance and very close to a great restaurant - 229 Park. great staff. great cabins. great good. great location. wish the cabins were pet friendly. they have a kennel but not the same for pet lovers like us. that is the only reason we may not come back. We ate at the Artisan Cafe and it was delicious! We got the coffee cake and quiche of the day and it did not disappoint. Everything from the location to the dishes the breakfast was served on made a great experience! Well worth the stop! Serene environment. The owner Donna, has a nice personal touch and the property is beautiful. Close to the park entrance.
