Although the food we tried was just ok to mediocre, the patio sitting setting is beautiful and relaxing. The round high tables with gas fire pit in the middle sets the mood while providing the desired warmth. A glass of wine by the fire and live entertainment... Nothing better after an active day of sightseeing regardless of the food. Service very friendly but forgetful. We found the food here to be flavorless. One of us had an edible meal...fish sandwich. The to-go lunches for outings we're awful. I repeat awful. They were pricey and the bread was at least one day old and very dry. Go across the street to the other restaurants and pick up a sandwich from the store. The food over there was yummy..especially the Serbian restaurant. We really enjoyed lunch and a beer at this stylishly designed and contemporary restaurant that opened summer 2016. We ate at the bar, and there is also a coffee bar and a small area where they sell t-shirts, hats and other high quality locally made gifts. And a very nice outdoor deck area with fire pits. This place has live music every night. Some of their specialties include king crab fettuccini, steak and frites, fish and chips, bison burger, and great beers. The place is named after Harry Karstens, the first superintendent of Denali National Park (known at that time as McKinley National Park). He built the first Park headquarters and the Park Road, starting from when there were no other improvements in the Park area. He was quite a trailblazer. There are some great photos from his time decorating the walls of this restaurant. Food is great and varied. Avocado tacos were great. Great value and live music. Food cold. Sent it back it was warm... Really mit worth t uhh e price. There has to be better options in the area.
