Such an authentic place. You can tell how many people have enjoyed meals here. It is a fantastic place. After a day in the park they offer great local beers and yak-adillas, elk burgers, crab grilled cheese, salmon, and of course all the classic food you would expect. The floor is crooked and half of the building looks like it is falling down, but that just makes it all the more authentic. The staff knows the menu well and they are all so professional and helpful. There are also events going on all the time and it gets lively late at night. I can't recommend the Denali Park Salmon Bake highly enough! The wait staff was excellent. Management was attentive. The chowder is among the best I've ever had, and I've lived all over New England. It's very full of seafood. The beers are also exceptional. They are custom made by the 49th State Brewing Company. I recommend the 907 and the Baked Blond. They were out of the McCarthy's stout, but a nitro powered Irish stout is never to be passed up. We went on July 19 evening. The food is okay but the waiter (He said He's from North Dakota) cheated us with incorrect money back after we paid. (the bill shows we need to pay $52.98 and we put $100 in it, but he only returned $43.05! It should be $47.02!so there's 7.5% shortage forus and the waiter just took $4 in his pocket! How come it would happen in this famous restaurant? As the guests , we still left another $8 as the tips so he probably earned $12 with his wrong calculation! therefore, we suggest other guests to be careful when checking the bills and hope the manager of the restaurant to be able to train the employees with an honest service, not just cheating their guests for money! Besides, we also stayed in their cabin uphill and near the restaurant. Last night was the most terrible day of our trip in Alaska because the music from the restaurant was so so loud that we and other guests can't sleep at all! The music didn't stop until 3 am! And we did call the restaurant but the waiter just ignored us!!! Why they can do such an annoying thing just for their happy pub night! So I would definitely suggest others not to visit this dishonest and selfish place to have meals and stay because it may ruin your vacation easily!! Great good so we went back again during our 2 day stay at a local lodge. Interesting atmosphere and a slanted building but the good was great and they even had some great local beers. Recommended highly as an alternative to eating at your resort. Floors are totally out of whack but it adds to the ambience. Food is good. Service is excellent. Be careful going up the stairs if you've had something to drink.
