This place used to have amazing food and drink. Was very family style and supporting of seasoning your meals not by corporate standards but to individual standards. Corporate is bland and must be the same accross the board. My family came to eat hoping for a great meal. There were 4 of us 2 children and 2 adults. Simple drinks lemonades, water, and soda. Berry lemonade was out so they gave me a blueberry lemonade but forgot I ordered 2. No disxount offered on the almost $5 drink that took almost 20 min to get to the table. Next we order our meals. Kids pizza, kids cheeseburger, the only chicken meal on menu, and who can say no to a steak meal at a steakhouse? Server was great asked if we wanted a soup or salad add on for the entree. We said salads and were told they were huge we may want to share one. Taking her word on how big they were I ordered one and so did my husband so I could have some to share with the kids. Salads come out. They are NOT big but the normal sized side salad you get with a dinner. 4oz of lettuce, 1/4 of a diced apple that was half rotten and not the kind advertised on the menu, 1oz candied pecans, a 3oz portion of fried chevre, and a decent vinegerette if they hadn't drowned the salad in it. At best a $5 salad I paid $10 a piece for and had nothing to share with the kids. The kids meals come out. How can you mess up simple kids meals right? Well you burn the burger before melting cheese on it and then burn the bun and slap it together. It was for the baby so we nust put ketchup on it and she was happy. I was disappointed though because it wasn't worth the $8. So next is the pizza. Cheese pizza. Hand tossed with house sauce. As a chef I love stone fired pizza and tasted it. The dough was stiff and hard to chew. I can forgive the fact that a trainee tossed the dough, but not the idea they decided to serve overwork dough that couldn't be chewed. The sauce was crushed tomatoes from a can sprinkled with Italian seasoning. Throw cheese on top and half ass garnish or powdered parm on a slice of the pizza and serve. Pretty pathetic and tasteless My plate of orzo, chicken, and asparagus (a 27 dollar plate worth 19 at best) came out with my husbands 6oz steak, potato thing (I say thing because it was a square cake tier of fake potatoes), and asparagus. That was a 30 dollar plate worth 20 at best. My orzo was so over cooked it was like porridge. Chicken was half overcooked and half just barely cooked. Uneven accross the whole piece. Both the chicken and pasta would have tasted great if done right but they were sadly ill prepared. The asparagus while perfectly cooked was just buttered and thrown on the plate like an after thought. An awesome 4 sprigs per meal. The only good part of the meal we had was the steak. It should have been a lot larger though for the price. The au gratin potatoes (that's the only way to describe what they might have been going for) had no flavor and tasted like box potatoes in a sheet form layered with sauce that had no flavor. I ordered dessert to go for me and the kids to share. $8 for a 4oz cup of melted whip cream on chocolate and $7 for a mud pie that was melted and refrozen more than once (kinda like frozen ice cream that has crystallized the same way) and a crust that was more like an over cooked sugar cookie you couldn't eat. Overall the meal was barely mediocre. The price of a 5 star place with food from a common corporate failing attitude of make it the same, keep it simple, and serve it regardless mop up the mess later. The servers were very pleasant and I can't blame them for ANYTHING only the management and kitchen was to blame for a boring meal. Nice sit down restaurant with nice interior. Food was good and the service was nice as well. A bit on the more expensive end. If you are looking for a nice glass of wine and a full service sit down dinner this is the place you want to go. Delicious dinner in Denali On June 20, 2015 our party of three enjoyed a delicious dinner at the Nenana View Bar and Grill in the McKinley Chalet Resort, which is located near the eastern entrance to the Denali National Park and Preserve in Alaska. After a couple of starters that included a crab bisque and a green salad, one diner chose the wild Alaska salmon entrée (market price), which was excellent. The other two diners both had the Kodiak black rockfish (at $27.00), and were more than happy with their choice. Service was pleasant but a bit slow. While the prices were somewhat high ($125 plus tip), we were not complaining because overall, the quality of the dinner was so much better at Nenana View than our dining experience the previous night at the Denali Trading Company restaurant located in the same hotel complex.
