Comfortable. Friendly helpful staff. Tent site well maintained. Bathrooms amazingly clean! $4.50 for 10 minute hot shower is pretty expensive. Mercantile sells Starbucks Coffee with extra espresso shot for $3.50 for a 16 oz to start the day off well! Wish there was a water fountain at the Mercantile but glad there was one near our campsite and at visitor center. Best site for RVs in the park, because it does have a store, toilets and showers, but it does not have electricity and water hookups. There is a dump station. Great location close to the mercantile and visitor centre. We just got word that our flight was canceled into Anchorage so I proceeded to call and cancel our reservation. After talking to a customer service rep I asked to speak with a supervisor (Amy). She then told me that because my flight was canceled due to weather she could not refund my full payment ($24 ) per night due to a joint venture they have going on with 2 other companies. Aramark and some other company. She said that her hands were tied due to the fact that if she canceled and reimbursed me it would cut into the profits of all entities involved. I asked if the space was going to remain open since I paid for it and wouldn't be there and she said "no they will fill it". I just love how our National Parks have turned into a profit gluten and totally disregard the citizens of this great Nation! Free ! At the entrance of the park, this campground has intimate spots to spend the night in the wood and the wilderness of the denali park. Unfortunatelly the toilets were horrible Been coming to Riley Creek my whole life, and now it's where I take people who hate camping to change their minds. It's a good middle ground for people who don't love roughing it in the woods, as you get the campground feel with restaurants and other accommodations minutes away. Staff if always great.
